GVM & payload calculator

Plan your load. Understand what remains. Find a GVM package to discuss with Silverback.

Select an Australian-delivered variant to load factory reference figures, or enter your own. Confirm your compliance plate, manufacturer documents and weighbridge ticket. Results are planning estimates against the figures you enter.

01 · Your vehicle

Choose the exact variant and specification edition. Factory figures are estimates: confirm your vehicle plate, modifications and equipment. Grey imports are not included.

02 · Start with your vehicle weight

Include only the vehicle in your baseline. Keep a note of fuel, occupants and fitted accessories already present. Add only loads absent from that baseline below. Enter the vehicle’s current approved GVM, not a proposed kit rating.

GVM upgrade options appear at 200 kg of remaining payload or less. Choose a larger reserve if you want more room for extra passengers and gear. Lowering this field does not lower the 200 kg reminder.

03 · Fuel (L)

Plan fuel in litres. The calculator converts it to estimated mass and adjusts only the difference from fuel already in your baseline.

Optional: enter the total capacity of the replacement tank, not extra litres. Leave blank to use the standard tank. Add any change in empty tank weight under Accessories.

Confirm the litres present when the vehicle was weighed or its baseline mass was established. Manual and weighbridge entries do not assume an empty or full tank.

Factory selection plans a full tank. Enter actual litres if needed, or clear Planned fuel to apply no fuel adjustment.

Fuel mass uses approximately 0.74 kg/L for petrol or 0.84 kg/L for diesel. Product and temperature vary; this estimate does not confirm vehicle or road approval.

04 · Build your load

Enter totals in kilograms. Tick “already in baseline” for anything present when the vehicle was weighed. Zero means no additional load in that row.

Passengers & cargo

Accessories fitted or planned

Enter the fitted weight for your actual gear. Leave unused items at 0 kg. Tick “Already in baseline” for gear included in your starting weight. For replacement parts, use the net added weight after removing the factory part.

Use measured ball load. It loads the tow vehicle and is not the trailer’s total mass.

Optional: axle and towing checks

Enter measured axle loads in the same fully loaded condition as your plan. Do not use the baseline’s axle readings for a different loaded setup. Blank limits stay unknown.

A better plan starts with real weights.

Weigh your vehicle ready for the trip, with fuel, passengers and equipment. If towing, record the vehicle axles and trailer axles with the trailer attached, plus ball load separately. Bring the ticket and your vehicle details to the workshop.
